This weekend, at the 2020 Cowtown Hamfest , my son passed the Technician Exam at the test session there conducted by the W5YI Volunteer Examiners. It wasn't his first try at the test, and he was super excited and proud he had accomplished it.

William is 12, and first attempted the test at 9. While I would have been just as proud if he had passed it back then, I feel like he truly understands the material now based on the questions he asked me while he was studying this time around, rather than just memorizing. It will surely make it more meaningful for him.

William's licence came in today and he is now KI5HXT .
